The most significant issue for the City of Wanneroo is its expected future population growth, especially in the outlying northern coastal areas.
Metronet’s Yanchep Rail Extension will extend the existing Joondalup Line 13.8 kilometres to provide stations along this northern coastline at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep.
In the short-term, the Yanchep Rail Extension will help develop activity centres by stimulating new employment opportunities in the Yanchep Strategic Metropolitan Centre – and support higher density land use.
In the long-term, the extension will help the mobility requirements of more than 150,000 future Yanchep-Two Rocks residents.
